Those who have heard Israel Bissell have compared them to the rock group Jethro Tull. This is due in part to Preble's "alley cat" style flute and the precision lead guitar work of Bacilla, who also produced and engineered Bissell's Disillusioned Hero CD.

With the exception of Preble, the four other members of Israel Bissell form the successful jazz fusion group Speed of Sound, who are currently working on their fifth CD.

Israel Bissell departs from traditional classic rock and roll with songs that are intricate and eclectic.  In addition to thought-provoking lyrics, the CD contains complex musical arrangements utilizing various instruments that flow in and out of the compositions.

Israel Bissell has established a firm hold in the category of contemporary musicians and recording artists.
